Rejuvenate yourself with a half-day excursion. We organized visits to attractive areas around Fujino, Waldorf schools in the Kanto area, and a social art workshop. Tour participation is noncompulsory. Excursions have a maximum limit of participants due to space or transportation constraints. We are awaiting details from some venues and they will be posted on our website as we receive them. The exact price for each tour will be finalized closer to the date. We hope you have a chance to join one of the tours and have a wonderful time.

We depart after lunch for a mountain hike (about 90 minutes) - view Japanese traditional weaving and dyeing (1 hour) - hot springs and dinner.
Fujino is a pretty town with an abundance of mountains and rivers. Refresh yourself with a short mountain hike near the venue and a visit to an old Japanese private house to see an aspect of traditional Japanese culture (weaving and dyeing may be changed depending on the availability of the host that day).
At the end of the tour we will stop by one of the nearby public hot springs. The hot springs has gender-segregated indoor and outdoor baths. If you do not bring your own towel, the facility rents towels for additional cost. The hot spring is an excellent way to reduce your fatigue from attending the first half of the conference. We will have a Japanese dinner after our relaxing soak in the natural spring water, and we will return to the venue around 19:30.

The lecturer will open the workshop by sharing a poem. Participants will create a watercolor painting as a group. Through painting, we will communicate with each other with color rather than speech. The composition will be a blend of group members’ colors and your own. We will develop unity and flow through our connection with colors.(Led by Yuka Kobayashi, a part-time art teacher at Fujino Waldorf High School.)
At AWTC 2015 in Japan, we value the importance of country presentations to become familiar with each other, and to share educational contents and curriculum ideas. We encourage everyone presenting to prepare in advance to promote deeper and enriched experiences among all participants. We established some policies to ensure every country has the opportunity to introduce themselves purposefully within the limitations of our time schedule.
